Tweed Court House Residency

Arts Northern Rivers is seeking Expressions of Interest from professional artists and creative practitioners for a new residency program at the historic Tweed Heads Courthouse.

Built in 1926, the original Tweed Heads Courthouse is the only remaining government building of its era in Tweed Heads. For almost sixty years it served the growing community before being relocated to its current site and becoming part of Tweed Regional Museum.

Originally comprising just three rooms, the Court Room, Magistrate's Room and Clerk of the Court Office, the building has long been a place of work, thought, conversation and community life. Today, these historic spaces offer a unique setting for creative practice and artistic development.

The residency program provides dedicated space for artists to focus on creative development, experimentation, rehearsal, research, collaboration and production.

• Successful Applicants Notified: 4 September 2026

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must either:

• Live in the Tweed Shire, or
• Demonstrate a strong connection to the Tweed Shire.

Applications are welcome from individual artists, artist collectives, creative collaborators and small independent creative teams working across all artforms.
