Bulaan Buruugaa Ngali nominated for 2025 IMAGinE Awards

Arts Northern Rivers is proud to share that Bulaan Buruugaa Ngali has been nominated for the 2025 IMAGinE Awards in the category Exhibition Project – Galleries, Medium (6 or more paid staff).

Presented in partnership with Grafton Regional Gallery, Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre, and Lismore Regional Gallery, Bulaan Buruugaa Ngali celebrates the enduring strength, creativity, and cultural continuity of Bundjalung weavers. The exhibition brought together artists, community, and galleries across the region to honour intergenerational knowledge and the deep connections between weaving, land, and story.

The IMAGinE Awards, delivered by Museums & Galleries of NSW, celebrate the resilience, innovation, and creativity of museums, galleries, and Aboriginal cultural centres across New South Wales. These awards recognise the people and projects making a difference in communities large and small through outstanding exhibitions, programs, partnerships, and collections care.

We are honoured to be acknowledged alongside so many inspiring organisations who continue to strengthen culture and creativity across the state.

You can still experience Bulaan Buruugaa Ngali for yourself — the exhibition is showing at Lismore Regional Gallery until 9 November. Click here for more info.

Winners of the 2025 IMAGinE Awards will be announced on Wednesday 26 November.
