Creative Data Desk: Helping you use research to grow your creative work

Are you working on a big project or bold idea for the Northern Rivers creative sector?

You may be ready to dig deeper into the local data and consider how it can support your next move, whether that’s applying for funding, shaping a new idea, or demonstrating impact.

The Creative Data Desk is a follow-up opportunity for creatives in the Northern Rivers who’ve already had an initial conversation with Arts Northern Rivers about their practice or project.

Researcher Tandi Palmer Williams from Patternmakers is offering free 60-minute consultations to help you explore the data from Who We Are and apply it meaningfully to your work. Sessions are available on the first Wednesday of each month, beginning May 2025, at the Arts Northern Rivers office in Lismore or online.

How might this be useful to you?

  • Grant applications: use the data to support funding proposals with strong evidence and local statistics.
  • Report writing: strengthen reports with context from the creative sector.
  • Program design: use insights about needs and gaps to shape relevant and targeted activities.
  • Strategic planning: inform long-term plans and identify growth or partnership opportunities.
  • Advocacy: highlight the contributions and challenges of the creative sector using solid data.
  • Cross-sector work: build partnerships in areas like health, environment or community development.
  • Understanding the landscape: see where your work sits within the broader regional context.
