We are looking for an organised, practical and people-focused Project Officer to help deliver Art on Bundjalung 2026. Working closely with our First Nations Program Coordinator and Project Manager, you will support artist and stallholder communications, project administration, social media and marketing, event logistics and hands-on delivery.

Northern Rivers writer Romy Ash is one of the authors appearing at this year's Byron Writers Festival, making it the perfect time to catch up as she releases her long-awaited second novel, Mantle. Karma Barnes is a multidisciplinary artist born in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa New Zealand, now based on Bundjalung Country in NSW. Working across installation, sculpture and participatory practice, she creates site-responsive works that explore ecological systems, material memory and transformation. With her work continuing to reach new audiences, we thought it was a good time to sit down with Karma and talk about her journey as an artist. Read on to get to know her work more closely.

Arts Northern Rivers and Grafton Regional Gallery have announced the three successful artists selected for the inaugural Northern Rivers Artist Exchange Residency Program. Taking place between July and November 2026, the week-long paid residencies will support artists Dean Stewart, Aria Kitchener and Jan Davis to develop new work inspired by the landscapes, communities and cultural context of the Clarence Valley through place-based creative practice.
